Matrix Rats Rattery

Colorado & New Mexico's Fancy Rat Breeder.

How I Choose A Breeding

  • All breeding's that are planned are first decided on the parents individual temperaments and health.
  • All rats are selectively bred to have offspring, sweeter, healthier and more longer lived.
  • I only breed friendly rats to ensure that the babies come out just as sweet if not sweeter.
  • Colors and patterns are always secondary, and usually just happen with each breeding, I do try to pair the best parents together to get the patterns without sacrificing the health and temperament of the rats. This is way having different breeding lines can help a breeder, since we only keep a select few rats for our breeding goals.

Breedings being planned, please fill out the waiting list form, the link to it is on the bottom of this page. If you would like to be on a specific wanting list. Place that in the box asking for what kind of rat your looking for. Just put the parents name in the box and i will mark it down.

Prices will be put on each rat individually, They will be no lower then $15 and no higher then $30 for any individual rat bred in my rattery. Prices will reflect the rat being either Pet, Breeder or Show quality. If a rat is to be deemed both Show/Breeder quality the price on the said rat will be reflected as such. A rat that is deemed only pet quality will be priced as such.. I don't see any of my rats being any less value then another out of the same litter. They are all bred with loving care to improve their genetics in all the aspects I my self as a breeder hold dear and strive for which is Health, Temperament and Longevity of each and every rat born in my rattery. My main goal as a breeder is to ensure that every baby sur-passes it's parents in all three catagories. But as breeding will show you sometimes one rat is blessed with all the genetic Ace cards, while others hold the Jokers. This is something I love to see since it shows my diversity in each litter. All rats in my eyes - born - in my rattery are Priceless, and I would give them away if I knew they wouldn't go to feeder homes, but since I can't see the future for my rats. I charge a adoption fee a little higher then most snake owners will pay for food for thier snakes.
If your a parent that has a child that is having a birthday, or you yourself have just loved a beloved family member in the animal world. Ask me about special pricing.

I normally don't charge a down payment on my rats, but being I have a new contract i will also be charging a small down payment of $5.00 per rat reserved. This down payment will go towards the purchase of your rats. If you decide you would not like a rat after you have paid your down payment you will get a 100% refund of the down payment fee. I don't believe in holding people's money as a ransom to make them adopt any animal since life has its own situations where sometimes its just not the right time. Plus, by doing this many breeders are risking their animals lives, since even with a signed contract rats can end up in Pet Stores, Shelters and etc. I for one don't want any of my animals going to any of such installations. So if you can't afford a pet or you just got a new baby, job and etc and don't have time for such a commitment your down payment will be refunded, and the rat will be put back up for adoption for a new home, Any rat not sold from any of my litters will be housed here and stay here until a home is provided for them elsewhere.  My rats aren't disposed of in any manner, MRR/us is a NON- Cull Rattery, meaning I don't kill any unwanted rats! My unsold rats always have a home here in my rattery, our new rat house can house up to 100 rats comfortably if needed!

MRR/us doesn't due rescues!! If you purchased a rat from me MRR/us you may always return the rat to me. No questions asked! I will always take back one of my babies, To return a rat back to me, please bring a copy of your signed sales contract. Registration Number, or the pedigree of the rat. You will need one of those documents to return the rat to me.  If you can't find any of those documents, please give me the full name of the person who adopted the rat at the time, I have a database of contact info and I should be able to pull up your information within a few hours or a day or two.

All changes to my prices and etc are due to my new Contracts.

I always keep and extented waiting list open for all my litters, since sometimes people fall through because of personnal issues and etc. Even though some waiting list state that the list is full, if interested please send in your requests..I like to keep 2 possible adopters per each rat born.. so my rats are always have a home after they are weaned.

May 2008

My first two breedings in May didn't take..I usually leave the males in until the females show, but this time around I only left them in for a week..So needless to say I'm going to go back to my old method.. I have used the old waiting list from the old breedings and place everyone where I think they want to be.. Please email me to let me know if you would like to stay on the current waiting list or if you would like to be moved to a different one for a future litter.. Sorry for the in convince.

So my new breedings are:

  1. MRR/us Qwest X MRR/us Coffee Cake
Waiting List on this litter is full
    IB 15.63%
    Litter Pedigree
I'm expecting this litter to give me a huge mix of patterns, from blazes, patched, veriberks, Jesters,  Hooded, Cap-Stripe, and my famous Mismarks, and Dalmatians. All babies should be Dumbo but will have 45% chance of D/C babies. Fur type will be standard with a 5% of velvet.  I'm also expecting some Odd-Eyed babies in this litter. Colors should be just black since it's very strong in this line, but I'm also hoping to get; mocha, fawn,  and blues.

  2. MRR/us Stars X MRR/us Chicken Noodle
    Waiting List is currenlty full
    IB 0.00 %
    Litter Pedigree

Okay this will be a fairly fun litter for me. Since they carry Siamese, and some nice colors, In this litter I will be trying to pull out Leaden blue, Russian blue, in Siamese and Self. Ear types are going to be both Dumbo and D/C. Fur types I expect are standard, Teddy Rex, and Satin.

July 2008

  1. MRR/us Tot X MRR/us Dove
    Waiting List is Full
    IB 0.0%
    Click For Litter Pedigree
I'm not sure what to expect from this litter, Tot is a mink merle, and Dove is a leaden blue, Now from what I remember in Germany leaden can be mixed with Mink. So I'm hoping with this pairing to see if I can get leaden merles, mink merles and maybe pearl. again I'm not 100% sure. All babies will be standard, 1% chance of dumbos. Markings will range between self and veriberk mismarks. This litter will be very large boned rats.

  2. Second Litter Is Pending.

Waiting list for the next following breedings will be open the End of July.. So please send in your request then.  My lists are pretty full and I'm in the process of updating everything and the following breeding plans may change without notice as I'm always trying to match the best rats to pair with each other. So these breedings may be what I'm planning or they may not..

** Please Note: All babies from the second litter will be adopted out to PET HOMES ONLY.. if you are a breeder I'm sorry you are not entitled to getting a rat from this litter even if it is under the terms of a Pet Only contract. I know breeders and I know it will be hard to try not to breed this new variety into your lines. I will be adopting out rats from the Roaning being either Pet or Breeding line to breeders in "09". This basically because it has been my pet owners support that has allowed me to get these rats in the first place, and they are my first proirty in letting them get what they have waited for. This is a pretty much a disclosure and it is  with this that I say no matter how much you (Breeders) complain, moan, cry , beg, offer $$.. you will not get a rat from this litter..NO IF'S, AND's or BUT's.. Threats will fall on deaf ears.. so don't even try that route.. Thanks for your understanding.. and I will have babies for you breeders in May of 2009!!
